Hawkeye Tech Launches HCB-5600: High-Performance PCIe Accelerator for 5G, 5G-A, and Future 6G Networks
New dedicated PCIe accelerator for telco stations and O-RAN to enhance efficiency and enable real-time edge inferencing through AI support.
April 2026 – Hawkeye Tech today announced the official launch of the HCB-5600, a high-performance PCIe Gen5 accelerator card designed to meet the growing demands of next-generation mobile network infrastructure. Powered by the Marvell® OCTEON 10™ CNF105 SoC, the HCB-5600 completes the OCTEON 10™ product portfolio with a purpose-built solution for advanced Physical Layer 1 (PHY) processing to increase efficiency when offloading the PHY layer from the CPU to dedicated PCIe accelerator cards.
The HCB-5600 targets deployment in macro cell base stations, O-RAN Distributed Units (DU), and advanced Massive MIMO Radio Units (RU). At its core is the CNF105 processor, built on a 5nm process and equipped with 18 ARM Neoverse N2 cores, delivering the compute density and efficiency required for high-throughput, low-latency wireless workloads.
Engineered for vDU Acceleration and Massive MIMO
Designed for Multi-RAT (Radio Access Technology) vDU acceleration that allows a single server-based DU to simultaneously manage multiple radio standards using specialized hardware accelerators, the HCB-5600 supports demanding antenna configurations including 64T64R, 128T128R, and beyond, across wide bandwidths. This makes it well-suited for 5G-Advanced deployments and future 6G network evolution, as this approach boosts performance, reduces latency, and enhances energy efficiency in, for example, Open RAN deployments.
To further enhance performance, the CNF105 integrates a hardware-based machine learning engine, enabling real-time edge inferencing. This capability supports intelligent signal processing, adaptive network optimization, and AI-driven radio resource management.
Robust Hardware Platform
The HCB-5600 is implemented as a half-length PCIe Gen5 x8 card and provides a comprehensive set of features for both data center and edge deployments. That includes 18 ARM® Neoverse™ N2 cores (Marvell® OCTEON 10™ CNF105), 16 GB DDR5 memory at 4800 MT/s, 32 GB eMMC 5.1 and additional NOR flash storage, dual 25Gb QSFP-DD ports (up to 100 Gbps aggregate bandwidth), GPS synchronization / grandmaster clock by IEEE 1588 PTP, USB Type-C console interface and a passive heatsink design for enhanced reliability.
This combination enables seamless integration into existing server platforms while supporting flexible deployment scenarios.
Completing the OCTEON10 Portfolio
With the introduction of the CNF105-based HCB-5600, Hawkeye Tech completes its OCTEON 10™-based lineup for telecommunications infrastructure. The solution is positioned as a key enabler for operators and equipment vendors transitioning to Open RAN architectures and AI-driven network processing.
